Present, prepared, and ready to serve.

I’m Amber Treat, and I’m running for Temple Terrace City Council because I believe our city deserves leadership that listens carefully, asks the hard questions, and follows through.

My service in local civic and community organizations has taught me that strong communities are built by people who show up. I bring that same practical, hands-on approach to this campaign.

I will work to protect the character of Temple Terrace while making thoughtful decisions about our roads, public safety, city services, and future growth.

Water safety

Clean water. Clear answers.

Temple Terrace water meets today’s state and federal standards, but testing found PFOA and PFOS above the EPA’s upcoming 4-parts-per-trillion limits. Residents deserve urgency, honest timelines, and a plan that protects both public health and household budgets.

Amber’s commitment

  • Push for a near-term PFAS reduction strategy while the long-range treatment project is designed and built.
  • Require a clear, apples-to-apples comparison of treatment, regional connection, operating, and disposal costs before committing ratepayers to a final plan.
  • Publish test results, milestones, costs, and schedule changes in plain language so residents can track progress.
  • Aggressively pursue grants, low-interest financing, appropriations, and recovery from PFAS manufacturers to reduce the burden on water customers.
  • Plan to meet the enforceable deadline without assuming that a proposed extension to 2031 will automatically apply.
